Kia Ora, Welcome.
Our Diocese came to birth during the Easter season of 1980. Pentecost became our patronal feast, and the Acts of the Apostles became our "vision statement". Identifying with the Church's origins seemed to have the consent "of the whole people". Much that has happened since has been about enabling people's participation. Many hundreds have presented themselves - or been presented by their parishes - for formation, and for ministries. As we enter the third decade of the life of our Diocese, and with the Universal Church enter the third millennium, we make our own the call of Pope John Paul II to a more contemplative way of being. It is in seeing God in the midst of life that we see the dignity of human nature and the sacredness of human life. [read more] |
